Welcome to the Japan Chapter

We are the Japan Chapter of the Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future. We launched in 2018, are based in Tokyo and meet once a month.
The main policy of the Japan Chapter is to encourage effective and efficient life-long dental caries management. We will promote the awareness of patients, educators, researchers and policy makers that caries is a preventable disease, but patients are at risk from early childhood right through to old age.
We campaign for following things:
- To combat inequalities and reduce the prevalence of caries in children, ACFF Japan will enhance the education of pregnant women and mothers through local health organisations and schools.
- To accelerate biological management of dental caries, ACFF Japan Chapter will campaign for all Japanese dental schools, academic groups and the education ministry to introduce ICCMS throughout dental education.
- To overcome the frequent incidence of root caries in elderly people, ACFF Japan Chapter will survey the prevalence of root caries nationwide, and seek effective methods for its prevention.
Financial support: Donations from Japanese general practitioners will be the main financial resources for the ACFF Japan Chapter. We will seek to recruit 100 general practitioners as sponsorship members, who will donate 200,000 JPY (approximately $2,000) per year.
ACFF Japan Chapter also accepts financial support from domestic dental companies.
Administration: Interdisciplinary Planning (IP), a Japanese company offers practical support. IP publishes books and organises seminars in the fields of medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacology and veterinary medicine. It has a 40-year history of successful business. IP will help with the administration in setting up and running the ACFF Japan Chapter.
