17th February 2019: Annual general assembly in Tokyo
Reports on the financial situation and research activities in 2018 will be presented. Special lectures will be delivered, and the event will be followed by a reception
23rd/24th May 2019: Symposium hosted by the Japan Chapter of the ACFF at the annual meeting of Japanese Society of Oral Health in Shiga.
Professor Hanada will host an annual meeting of Japanese Society of Oral Health. The Chapter will organise a symposium with the aim of introducing its global and local activities to this wider audience.

Summary of the achievements of 2018
Inaugural symposium of the Japan Chapter with Professor Nigel Pitts in Tokyo
On 4th February 2018, the Japan Chapter of the ACFF was launched at a meeting in Tokyo. More than 150 local dentists, policy makers and other stakeholders attended an afternoon symposium hosted by the Chapter with Global Chairman Professor Nigel Pitts. Before the symposium started, the steering committee of the Chapter met to reaffirm the initial plans and projects of the Chapter.
Members’ Conference in Tokyo
On 24th September 2018, the Japan Chapter of the ACFF hosted a Members’ Conference in Tokyo. The official members, who have provided financial support for ACFF Japan, were introduced. Four research projects, which were approved by the steering committee for financial support by the Chapter, were presented by their respective researchers.

Homepage started
The Japan Chapter started its homepage in September. The page directly links to the ACFF Global page. The homepage will be renewed and updated monthly according to global and local events.
Translation of ICCMS™ documents into Japanese
Translation of the 2-page and simple versions of ICCMS documents into Japanese has been completed. These documents offer basic materials for discussions to enable Japanese educators to seek the best ways to accelerate biological management of caries and campaign for adoption of ICCMS™ throughout dental education in Japan.
Attending the ACFF Policy Lab Meeting in London
On 23rd/24th July 2018, Professor Hanada attended the Policy Lab Meeting in London just before the IADR meeting. The future of dental payment systems to encourage preventative schemes was the main topic of the discussion with international perspective.
Attending the ACFF Expert Meeting in Washington DC
On Friday 12th October 2018, Professor Hayashi attended the ACFF Expert Meeting in Washington DC, where she introduced the launch of the Chapter and its initial activities.

A total of 12 articles on the launching of the Chapter and the proposed research activities were published in domestic dental journals and papers.
